Fiscal Agent for research projects

In this activity, a research team, with full funding through government, foundations, and/or individual donors, will use CHeRN as an organization to accept the funds.

CHeRN directors are developing mechanism to guide as to which types of projects are appropriate. Criteria will cover activities with a climate and health focus, where there is an opportunity to improve scientific understanding to support actions to improve human health and benefit climate. With guidance from the Board, the president will have the discretion to decide if a request to serve as a fiscal agent could be granted.

CHeRN will establish a grants administration percentage or fee structure to cover the management costs required to assume fiscal responsibility.  Contracts will be developed defining the relationships, liability/responsibility and expectations with the respective parties, outlining tasks expected to be performed by CHeRN and by others.
